Peter G. Demos, Jr.


Trainer, seminar leader and businessman, Peter G. Demos Jr. is from Northern California. He entered the casino industry in 1964 as a craps and blackjack dealer for Harrah's Hotel Casino at Lake Tahoe, Nevada and became a dealer, boxman and floor-person at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel Casino in 1966. He returned to San Diego University where he obtained degrees in psychology and sociology in 1970. Following graduation, Mr. Demos re-entered the gaming industry via Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas until Resorts International recruited him as a pit manager and games instructor for their new casino in Atlantic City in 1978. He subsequently became a trainer and pit manager for Caesar's and later, a casino shift manager for Harrah's Marina Hotel Casino. Sensing a critical need for a professionally run casino dealer school. Demos, in 1980, opened and operated for 7 years Casino Schools, Inc. then the world's largest privately owned gaming school and taught over 14,000 students. Upon selling his interest in CSI, Mr. Demos formed Demos and Associates, a gaming, consulting and training company specializing in customer service and supervisory techniques for the casino hotel and hospitality industry.

From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Demos was Director of Casino Operations for the Sands Hotel Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico being responsible for all finance and budgetary planning, internal controls, marketing, slots and casino table games, credit and public relations as well as overseeing a staff of 660, a $9 million operating budget and an average $110 gaming drop. Mr. Demos has also been a consultant for major Internet casinos advising in the structure and design of table games, slot machines and the determination of fair odds and payouts. He has also been instrumental in consulting with several countries in developing their Internet licensing and gaming regulations. Peter Demos' writing has included gaming columns for Atlantic City Magazine, Boardwalker Magazine, Philadelphia Bulletin, Casino Journal, The Player and authored the book, Casino Supervision A Basic Guide.

Currently, Mr. Demos conducts casino management and customer relations seminars and workshops throughout the gaming and business world and is a much sought after speaker at management and gaming conventions. He has been a featured speaker at the World Gaming Congress from 1988-98. the North American Indian Gaming Association Convention and Trade show in Minnesota 1992, First Nations Expo, Vancouver 1993, Cal-Nev Indian Gaming Annual Convention 1993 and RES 1994, Riverboat Gaming Show and Exposition, 1995, Audiotext 1997, National Gaming Regulators Convention, Arizona, 1997.
